A "Minty Boost" is a portable, battery-powered alternative to charging your electronic devices via your devices USB charging cord.

All the electronics and 2 AA batteries fit inside an Altoids gum tin so you can carry one in your purse/suitcase or leave one in the car for emergency situations. From two full batteries, you should be able to recharge an iPod at least 1.5 times!

I have tons of these DIY kits leftover from an electronics workshop that I taught. You can buy a kit from me for $20 flat (same price as buying online but no shipping!) which includes all of the electronics components. Kits can be put together in under an hour. Note that kits do NOT include a tin, USB cables, or batteries.

For $35, I will assemble one for you and put it in an unique, rockin' tin (as you can see below, I got myself a Napoleon Dynamite candy tin) or a regular Altoid gum tin.

Please email pearl(at)karma-laboratory(dot)com to arrange a pick up at my studio close to Queen and Bathurst.

BONUS OFFER: Maybe you want to put one together yourself but don't know anything about soldering or electronics?? For $50, you supply the tin and I will supply 1 hour of studio time and offer assistance in turning you into a Minty Boost soldering master! :)

Hi, there! I'm looking for work. Are you looking for a freelancer? Let's talk!

I'm currently available for all your electronic and interactive needs -- specifically Flash development but a sampling of the work below might make you realize that I'm more versatile than just that.

If you would like to view a full-sized version of my portfolio document, please email

There's lots going on for Nuit Blanche tonight but I just wanted to point out that it's the last weekend for the Artillerist exhibition I worked on in August at Pixel Gallery.
